DESIGN

The color scheme and website layout are exactly as it is displayed. The blue, grey, white color scheme is aesthetically pleasing, easy to read, and has an equal balance of copy to white space. In turn, the magazine will be highly respected and trusted because the facts printed will be true and distributed in an easy-to-read manner.

Pulled quotes will be used in interview articles for main ideas. Infographics will be employed to explain complex theories and discoveries. This is important to bridge the gap between scientists, environmentalists, and travel enthusiasts. We have a little bit of each in all of us, it just takes different mediums to convey that.

Photographs will accompany every article and the featured article will have more than the rest. Photo and video are important in educating about and advocating for nature. While articles and Op-Eds on the blog will have multimedia, readers can contribute as well. We are active on all major social media platforms which in turn allows readers to tag us in their posts. Then, we are able to publish them in our feed on the home page. We want readers to feel like a family, and they can now with this feature. They can see what other fellow readers are seeing and helping and be inspired to go out and do the same.

The blog works as an opinion column. While staff writers will contribute to it, submissions will be accepted at times, too. We hope to employ a weekly comic strip on different environmental topics in the Op-Ed section, too. The comics will have the same characters, but each week tackles a different topic/issue today. We hope this is another call to action that feels more personal to readers because it is animated.
